Bonefishing in Islamorada! What else can you say? Sight fishing for bones on the Islamorada flats is the Big League of fly fishing and light tackle angling. Several times I have heard experienced anglers, that fish all over the world, say if they had only one more day to fish in their life, they would go bonefishing in Islamorada.

Bonefish feed on shrimp, crabs, other small crustaceans, and baitfish. Spinning rods with jigs sometimes tipped with shrimp work well.

Fly fishermen use eight or nine weight rods and a reel with a smooth drag system for "Bones".
