Fly fishing for big tarpon is one of the most exciting
experiences in the fishing world. It's done with eleven and twelve
weight rods. Reels built with the highest technology and loaded
with two hundred plus yards of thirty pound test backing are standard.
Tarpon are known for spectacular jumps and long powerful
runs. It can, and often does take an hour or much more to bring
a large tarpon to the boat.
